The Land of the Free

So after all that non-posting, here i am trying to make up for it! after school school school interupting my life, i am on holidays! and while i have a pile of books to re-read, notes to remember and sacs to study for i am actually much free-er then i have been for months! in the sense that i have handed all the folios in, i did my LAST literiture sac EVER and Sam has gone to asia, hes already been gone for 3 weeks but comes back in 2 so i am kinda boyfriend free. yip-eee. (its actually a bad kinda free, but absence is certainly making the heart grow fonder)
Here are the things that freedom allows me to try and complete:
1. make a zine!
2. make some clothes
3. watch all the movies i have always wanted to watch
4. read miranda july's new book
5. work and work and work for mikes!
6. save up some money!

i am the excited and ambitious molly this evening, and as i sit here and eat chocolate and watch "a series of unfortunate events" on TV (that olaf is SO dispicable!)

hopefully i'll post again!

photobucket is being disagreeable and will not work. no photo for you or me!

the land of sickness and sleep

i have a terrible cold, but i have had a fantastic past few days, if not too fantastic because i have been so busy i have let myself get sick!
on friday night quebec played their first show in about 5 months at the Pony which was a really fun night. Chloe introduced me to Cider, which is a drink i really like. i am not keen on beer or wine and spirits are expensive so Cider is like a nice sweet fizzy carbonated friend for me!
Quebec were really really good and it was exciting to see them do their music thing again, they played again on saturday night at Cloud City with MY DISCO. It was such a great gig. it was cold and rainy but i was warm and cosy with sam and Cousin hugh and sophie and ruby and there were mice running around and cider and oohwooh it was a nice time. Then james announced that cloud city was shutting down for various reasons to do with land lords and leases and boring stuff. its so sad because it was so much fun. i had alot of fun there and all the people who live there are so great!
So after a couple of cider longnecks and falafals and turkish delights and mice and great my disco-ness cal drove ruby and sophie and i back to my sisters house which we were house sitting and us girls just watched some anime and ate toast!

Tomorow i am going to brisbane! i am very very excited but also wondering what to pack.
i will go and tidy my room in 10 seconds. i promise!

The Land Of Procrastination

In the last two weeks, i have had so much time and opportunity to create and craft and kill some of the homework that is infesting my life. but i havnt.
i have saved money, for the exciting trip i am taking in exactly one week (to brisbane and sydney with Sam and Quebec), i have seen friends, watched lots of tee-vee and eaten lots of yummy food, i have been out into the coldness and i have slept lots too but no homework has been done!
it is DEPRESSING, to look at the huge pile of text books and visual diaries that are empty or un-read. it is depressing to think about all this time i have wasted but honestly honestly. its too tuff. for me.
So now i will potter off to my room, which is much nicer then it has ever been because i changed the lightglobe and i did have a green old energy saving globe in my light but it made my room crazily fluroescent! i put in a nice 100watt tungston globe which may not be nice to mr earth but it is nice to my eyes, and i dont have it on much anyway.

This is Paul and i at Spoon a few months ago, Paul lives in Brisbane and i get to see him! in one week! yikes!

The land of Sisters and Brother.

Well, right now i am in my little sisters room listening to this horrible emo that she loves... some band called "The Starting Line" which makes me laugh because i used to date a boy who was in a band called "End Of The Line"... ha! but they were just from Eltham or something. It's funny.
Lastnight i went for yummy mushroom casserole and fried polenta dinner at my dear old sister Marita's house... My brother Spencer was there too, so it was quite a family affair. Afterwards Marita drove me to Sams, and gave us a Golden Gaytime icecream each! hooray! i am so glad they still make those fantastic iceycreams.
Then Sam and i watched Waynes World 2. And i had the GAT today which everyone agrees was really FUKD UP.
And also my other sister is fantastic too. so there y'go.

The land of things that make me think.

"Honesty will get you a lot further then pitiful pretentiousness"

Since the last time i posted, not much has happened. Rubys birthday party was a smash. The Ships Piano were fantastic, so were You Will Die Alone. Lots of really great people, whose company i enjoy immensley. I drank not too much and just enough, which is a releif since alchohol often induces rediculously awkward and embarressing moments for me, so five or six vodka and Ciata's were plenty to make me just giggle quietly.
Sam and i went back to cloud city, on the tram home with Laura Sabine, we had a rediculous tram driver who kept making the doors creak and shudder and saying really bizzare things to us. It was... entertaining but quite creepy. We slept in until 11 and spent the rest of the day at my house eating melty cheese and tomato and pesto on toast, cruising the internet, cleaning my room and making out.
Sam took me to dinner at Shanghai dumpling where we munched on spring rolls and dumplings.

I want to write more about Meet Me At Mikes today, and the show at cloud city tonight and seeing some really great bands and just feeling sleepy but Big Love is starting. I am listening to this complilation Tim Sullivan and Juzzie from Quebec made of some of the best melbourne bands over the last 2 years. Its really impressive, and really exciting to think i have got to witness some of this music being performed, known some of the people who have played it and just gotten to experience something like this, something like the music community in Melbourne.
The people in these bands are some of the hardest working, loyal and determined people around. some of them are lazy, but some are real 'do-ers', taking the time to put on shows, to make music or even to make a compilation like this is proof. Lets hear it for them.

the land of people around me

I have spent the last two days listening to Bonnie Prince Billy's The Letting Go, (lent to me by sam xo), this is what Bonnie 'Prince' Billy looks like. IF you were wondering.

I think its a pretty fantastic photo.
Also, when i was sitting in the park eating my Pear, alone, because i have ZERO friends near me today, this funny fellow playing jazz-saxophone set up a stage (stood on a tree stump) and started playing really wonky sax. It was awkward because he kept looking at me, but i was writing about how if my life was a movie, the old drunk polish man on the bus this morning would be played by Bill Murray. The saxophone player would be played by a 90's actor who would have appeared on Seinfeld.
The crazy boy from my school who speaks in german sometimes and has funny facial hair and a weird haircut would be played by Antonio Banderaz.
Full Stop.

The Land of Good-days and Nights

It started off, on tuesday night.. when i didnt go out. i ended up doing these things:
1. Cooking Vegan Cupcakes to say THANKYOU to James for making sam and i breakfast last week

(The recipe was really easy:

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 a cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa1 tsp baking soda1.2
tsp salt
1 cup water
6 tbsp oil
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp vanilla
150 grms of dark black and gold compound chocolate (THIS IS REALLY CHEAP AND VEGAN! YES!)
cup-cake cup thingos

Directions
lightly grease 8 inch cake pan with cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350 (180 C)Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add water. Mix. Add oil and vanilla. Beat with egg beater. Add vanilla. Stir untill smooth. Melt with about 1/4 of a cup of water the chocolate, microwave or in a saucepen.. whatever. add to batter and mix through. Table spoon batter into pans and place in oven.Bake for 10-20 min. Test with toothpick. If it comes out clean it is ready.

It made about 26 cupcakes!
The second thing i did was make a little old apron!
it was really simple, i am quite proud of myself. i even appliqued little yo-yo suffolk puffs with buttons! it only took about an hour-45 minutes to make.

Then, on wednesday i finished bits and peices of my art folio, met up with samuel, went to smith street and bought some sweat-shop free hoodies and t-shirts as winter warmers from Quali-tops!
Then we visited james at Missing Link and gave him the cup-cakes, went home to cloud city and cooked soup which was great except be burnt the lentils and it tasted kinda smokey. OH i also bought sam a hot water bottle because it gets so cold at his ware-housey house at night.
we watched the last episode of Arrested Development (sad it is over) and cloud city got a photo-copier! so exciting... we drank some beers and talked about how we cant wait to make some fantastic couple-zine. i am so excited. he is the best boy i have ever met!
We slept in until 11 and i didnt go to school, so lazy. oh well.
now i am off to finish some homework!
P.S i am so cozy in my qualitops hoodie yesssssssssssssssssss
P.P.S GUESS WHAT ELSE IS VEGAN.... jam fancy biscuits! so awesome. matt told me and then i ate a whole packet! almost...

The Land of Dumbluck

Rin Tin Tin
Tonight i am supposed to be spending time with darling samuel and saying Bon Voyage to Sally as she ventures off to become an Opare in EUROPE, but i am doing NIETHER. i am sitting on the couch, watching Home and Away (ewwww) NOT what i had planned.
Anyway, speaking of not-what-i-had-planned, the sociology sac didnt go as planned, neither did my train ride this afternoon, the train smelt like DENCORUB but atleast a lovley little elfin Daniel was there in a fabulous sweater, and then he walked me home. nearly. which really was something.
SO. To sum things up, soup is nice on a night like tonight... and i hope all the people involved in the terrible train crash today are as okay as they can be. It is a really awful thing.

The land of new things...

Greetings to you blog-land!

I am here, in my room, compelled for the first time to create a blog. I am now making an oath to use my time more productivley. To try and make something everyday! It is a commitment, however not a fruitless one, as i will soon have an abundance of collected, crafted creations to report on. Each with a land of their very own!

Now i better scriggle of to bed, i have a Sociology essay to write at school in the morning! yeeks!

This is a diorama I made of my own little nest.

Stay in bed all day, and don't be afraid!
